It's time to unite, challenge the educational system, and tear it down! Too many of today’s educators are “teaching” our students with antiquated methods and strategies that have been in play for decades. Gone are the days when students quietly came into school, sitting in perfect rows, copying notes the teacher writes on the chalkboard. With the rise of technology, changes in family dynamics, and a mindset of instant gratification due to the DVR, Spotify, and literally arming ourselves with computers in our pockets, educators cannot reach students with only their voice, drill and kill, immobility. Our students are so much more than a name and number on a class roster.
It's time to let our mohawks fly, thrown on that leather biker jacket housing dust bunnies in the closet, and lace up our Chuck’s. We have strength in numbers and it’s time to let the world know that the punks are taking over.
It’s time to truly make a difference in today’s educational world. To not only make a lasting impact on our students but to create problem solvers, collaborators, individuals confident in their strengths and not ashamed to rely on others when needed.
It’s time to create a unified group of kids determined to change our world for the better.
It’s time to challenge the status quo of education and approach our classrooms and students with the Punk Rock Mindset.
